Slack low pressure influences south-western Europe, bringing some heavy rain to southern France, and areas of showers for Spain, with snow over higher terrain inland. South-eastern Costas will probably escape dry and relatively warm at 14C. Showery for western Portugal. A few showers around coasts of Italy and the Balkans. Thundery for Cyprus. A chilly wind for Greece and Turkey.
High pressure over eastern Europe produces plenty of dry and cold weather. Sub-zero temperatures from Russia to Poland. Some snow for Austria, but generally dry for Switzerland and into Germany. Dry too for northern France and the Low Countries, highs 6 to 10C. Cold but mainly dry across Scandinavia. Local snow flurries around Baltic coastlines. Strong southerly winds for Norway.


Monday
A frontal system will sweep into north-western Europe, bringing rain and gale force winds to northern France and the Low Countries - mild air within this system see temperatures reach 10 to 13C. High pressure builds across Spain and Portugal bringing a largely dry day. Dry for central Europe including the Alpine countries. A few showers locally around the western Mediterranean and southern Italy. Areas of rain and snow for the southern Balkan states and Greece. High pressure remains across Russia, maintaining cold and dry westher across eastern Europe. Brisk southerly winds for Poland and the Baltic. Rain and snow for southern Norway and a risk of gales.
