Cool with rain and showers north and west, but warmer and drier east and south


Thursday
A slow-moving front lies across central Europe, bringing heavy rain to France, southern Germany and the western Alps. Showers or longer spells of rain for the Low Countries, and feeling cool in strong winds, just 15C.
A ridge of high pressure builds into Biscay, and brighter skies will develop for south-west France. Dry for Spain and Portugal, with temperatures 35C in Andalucia. Some rain develops for northern Italy, but the spine of Italy stays dry. Fair weather extends across south-eastern Europe.
Hot sunshine for Greece, Romania and Bulgaria. Warm in southern Poland, 25C, but cooler further north. Windy around the Baltic, with outbreaks of rain. Sunshine and scattered showers for Norway and Sweden. Some persistent rain for Finland, but also brighter spells.


Friday
Rain affecting northeastern Spain on Friday, some of it heavy and thundery. Drier for most of the rest of Spain and Portugal although showers affecting the hills of northern Spain. Fair for much of Italy, although some showers in the far north. Sunshine and dry weather as well as being warm in Greece and Turkey.
Showers, some heavy in central and northern France. Southern France should be dry with sunny spells. Heavy showers in the Low Countries and Germany. Poland should be dry with sunny spells. Fair in Hungary and Austria although heavy showers in Switzerland.
Sunshine and showers for Denmark, these heavy at times. Further heavy showers for much of Sweden and Norway. The baltic States will be breezy with outbreaks of rain with showers in Finland.
