High pressure brings dry & bright conditions to western Europe; more unsettled to the east


Wednesday
A dry and bright day on Wednesday for Portugal, Spain and the Balearics while an area of low pressure developing over the Tyrrhenian Sea will bring thundery downpours to Sardinia and southern Italy. Drier and brighter in Corsica and northern Italy. An overcast and showery day for Greece and western Turkey.
It will be dry and bright for France and Switzerland while the Low Countries and Germany will be rather overcast. Showers developing in northern Germany through the afternoon too. Showery too for the Czech Republic and Poland, drier and brighter in the southeast and for Slovakia and Hungary. Wintry showers should ease over Austria to leave a dry and bright afternoon.
Showers easing for western Denmark through the morning leaving a rather overcast but dry afternoon. A dry and mostly bright day for the Baltics while a band of light snow showers will sweep eastward across central and northern parts of Finland. Staying dry in the south. A few scattered light showers for southern Sweden and Norway with a mixture of cloudy skies and sunny spells elsewhere.

Thursday
Dry and bright for Portugal, Spain, the Balearics and Corsica while Sardinia could see a few showers develop through the afternoon. Heavy thundery showers easing for southern Italy and Sicily through the afternoon to leave dry and bright evening. Dry and bright for northern Italy. Greece and western parts of Turkey will see thundery showers persisting through the day.
A dry and mostly bright day for France, Switzerland and Austria. Cloudier skies but staying dry for the Low Countries. Showers over eastern Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland will ease to leave some good sunny spells through the afternoon. Staying mostly dry for Slovakia and Hungary.
Mostly dry with a mixture of cloudy skies and sunny spells for Denmark and the Baltics while a band of wintry showers over northern and central Finland will clear to leave a fair afternoon. A mostly dry day for Sweden too though northwestern areas could see some snow showers. Wintry showers for southwestern Norway; dry with some good sunny spells in the southeast.
