Heavy rain and snow affects southern parts of Europe through the next two days
Heavy outbreaks of rain affecting southeastern Spain on Monday. Drier and brighter to the northwest and for Portugal. Heavy rain continues too for northern Italy and spreads into the northern Balkan states turning to snow over the Dinaric Alps. Increasing cloud over Greece with isolated showers to the west. Dry and sunny for much of Turkey.
A mostly dry and bright day for France, Belgium and Germany. Feeling cold with isolated showers for northern coasts. Some snow showers over Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia while it stays mostly dry but cloudy for the Czech Republic. A cloudy day for Poland too with scattered snow showers.
A dry day for Denmark with varying amounts of cloud. Snow clears east from the Baltic States to leave a bright but cold end to the day here. Continuing windy for much of Norway, Sweden and Finland with snow becoming confined to northern areas and to the western coast of Norway. Plenty of good spells of sunshine here.
Heavy outbreaks of rain continue for southeast Spain, spreading to the Balearic Islands later. Dry and bright for the rest of Spain and Portugal. Showery rain and cloud clear to the south from Italy with dry and sunny conditions following from the north. A band of rain affects northern portions of Greece and Turkey but it stays dry and bright to the south.
High pressure brings dry and settled conditions to a large part of Europe on Tuesday. A chilly but sunny day for much of France, the Low Countries, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. Any early snow showers over eastern areas quickly clear away.
A band of showery rain spread across Norway, Denmark and Sweden. This turns to snow over higher ground and to the north. Rain reaches Finland later but ahead of this it's a dry and bright day. Dry and sunny too for the Baltic States though cloud builds form the west later.
