Heavy showers Italy and eastern Europe, fair and sunny north and west
Thursday Low pressure will reside over central-southern Europe, producing further areas of heavy rain and thunderstorms for Italy, the Balkans and Mediterranean islands. A dry day for much of Spain and Portugal, with temperatures topping 20C around southern Costas. Greece and Cyprus should also stay dry. Rain also affects Romania and Ukraine, with snow over the mountains. A brisk easterly wind continues for northern-central Europe - largely dry, but with a cooler feel for Germany, Poland and the Low Countries, highs 7 to 11C. Chilly across Scandinavia, with north to northeasterly winds, and temperatures only just above freezing by day.
Friday High pressure brings fair conditions to most of Spain and POrtugal. Good spells of sunshine and staying dry. Further sunshine across the Balearics. Heavy showers in Italy as well as Corsica and Sardinia. Heavy showers again in Greece and Turkey. Fair in France with good spells of sunshine and dry too. Staying dry across the Low Countries and Germany with a brisk and chilly wind here. More sunshine in central and northern Poland. Showers in Austria and Hungary as well as Austria, some of them heavy. Fair for Denmark with more sunshine here. Staying sunny too in the Baltic States and cold in the wind. More sunshine in Finland, dry here. Plenty of sunshine in Sweden and Norway.
