Hot in south-west Iberia

Saturday
High pressure extends across western Europe and Scandinavia, whilst low pressure is focused over Italy. Hot and dry for south-west Spain and Portugal, highs 35C, whilst the Biscay coast is cooler at 23C. Rain and possible thunder for parts of Italy, which also affects the Alps, the northern Balkans and eastern parts of France. Strong winds around the Gulf of Genoa. Dry for Greece and Black Sea coasts, topping 30C. An isolated thunderstorm is possible for the mountains of Romania.
West and northern France will be dry and bright, feeling fresh at 22C. A few showers possible for the Netherlands, and scattered bursts of rain likely for Germany too. Some rain around the southern Baltic, perhaps northern Poland, although much of southern Poland and the Czech Republic look dry. High pressure over Scandinavia brings a fair day to northern Europe, although local showers may affect southern Norway and Sweden.

A fair day across Spain and Portugal, and hot in the south-west, over 35C. Some rain may move into the far north of Spain. Fronts moving across Biscay bring rain to north-west France, but much of France will be dry and bright, 22 to 25C, warmest south & south-west. A few showers for the Alps, Germany and locally northern Italy. Low pressure over eastern Europe brings rain to the Balkans, some thundery bursts, also affecting Hungary, Slovakia and eastern Poland. Dry and hot in Greece and areas near the Black Sea, over 30C. Low pressure also lies over the southern Baltic, producing strong easterly winds for Finland and Sweden, plus outbreaks of rain. Showery for Denmark. High pressure over northern Russia will keep things dry for northern Scandinavia.
