Thundery northern Italy

Friday
High pressure builds in more across western Med on Friday and will bring mostly dry and sunny conditions to Spain, Portugal and the Balearic Islands, Sardinia and Sicily. Italy sees some heavy and thundery downpours along eastern coasts and more widely in the north of Italy into the southern Alps. Greece is rather unsettled with showery rain, with more prolonged spells of rain across northern parts. Largely dry but some cloud across Turkey.
As high pressure builds any showers across central Europe will gradually die out, particularly over more western European countries, as drier and brighter conditions develop. Showers for Croatia, Slovenia and Hungary. Poland and the Czech Republic will also hold on to cloudier skies and some patchy rain.
Wet across much of Norway, with exception to the more northern regions where it looks to be largely dry. Central and northern regions of Sweden and Finland too look wet as spells of rain affect these areas. Dry and fine across Denmark through the morning before the cloud builds and rain moves into western regions by the afternoon. Largely dry across the Baltic States.

Saturday
High pressure over France, Spain and Portugal brings a warm day with plenty of sunshine. The western Med also stays dry. Areas of thundery showers for southern and eastern Italy, the Balkan states and mainland Greece. The Greek islands and Cyprus will be generally dry. Areas of thundery rain extend across Romania, Bulgaria and Ukraine.
Patchy rain for the coasts of the Netherlands. Generally damp and windy for Denmark with rain on and off, setting in heavier later. Central Europe will be mostly dry with variable cloud, across Germany an the Czech Republic, feeling quite humid. A little rain or drizzle for Poland. Showers locally over the Alps.
Rain for southern Sweden, and some heavy falls into southwest Finland, whilst much of Norway stays dry. Rain arrives in the far south of Norway later in the day. Drizzly rain for the Baltic states may turn heavier in Estonia.
