Warm and dry much of the Mediterranean

Sunday
Fronts extend across the west & north-west of continental Europe, producing heavy rain for Portugal and north-west Spain, plus northern France and the Low Countries. Cloudy with a little rain for Germany, but mild, 14 to 17C. Southern Spain and France will be largely dry and warm, with rare showers; highs 20 to 22C. Showers around Sicily, but much of Italy will be dry with sunshine. The Alps will be also generally dry.
High pressure centred over western Russia influences much of eastern Europe. Extensive dry weather for Greece , countries surrounding the Black Sea, also toward the Baltic. Mild southerly winds across eastern countries. Heavy rain affects southern Norway and Sweden, with snow over the mountains. Northern Scandinavia stays largely dry.

Monday
A zone of rain stretches across central Spain, France and into northern Germany. Patchy at times, but also some heavier pulses of rain moving through. Drier for Portugal with some sunshine. Eastern Spain and the Balearics should stay dry and warm, topping 20C.
Italy, the Balkans and Greece will be dry and warm. Dry also for Alpine regions. High pressure remains over eastern Europe, maintaining extensive dry and mild conditions for countries including Romania, Hungary and Poland. Areas of rain for Scandinavia, breaking up into showers for Norway. Fairly mild southwesterly winds, around 10C.
