Thundery across Central Europe and Scandinavia
Hot and sunny again for Spain and Portugal with temperatures into the high 30s Celsius. Fine weather also for the Balearic Islands and Sardinia, although the risk a thundery shower in Corsica. Western and central France is dry and warm, but eastern areas are likely to see thunderstorms, particularly toward the Alps. Very unsettled for Switzerland, Austria and the Balkans with heavy rain and thunderstorms. Italy will also see thundery rain, worst in the north. Scattered thunderstorms in Greece and Turkey, but plenty of sunshine for the Greek Islands. Variable cloud and outbreaks of rain for Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and northern parts of Germany. Much of central Germany is dry, but expect some thundery rain toward the Alps. Very warm and scattered thunderstorms for the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and southern Poland. Northern Poland and the Baltic states are hot and sunny. Sunshine and scattered thunderstorms for Norway, hot for Sweden and Finland.
Remaining hot, dry and sunny for Spain and Portugal, although a fresh northerly breeze around the north-west coast. Much of France is also dry and warm with sunshine, particularly the south and west, although the risk of a few scattered thundery showers toward the north-east. The Mediterranean islands are fine and warm. Thunderstorms continue to affect Italy and the Alps, and also extensive across the Balkan states. Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic are likely to see heavy thundery rain, although Hungary may avoid the worst of the showers. A scattering of thundery showers for Greece, but plenty of warm sunshine for the Greek Islands, Turkey and Cyprus. Still hot across Scandinavia, although thunderstorms will affect many parts of Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Dry and hot in Finland, the Baltic states plus northern Poland.
