Hot and sunny southern Spain & Portugal

Wednesday
A trough of low pressure moves across western Europe, producing plumes of thunderstorms for France, these tracking north-east into Belgium and western Germany. Rain also spreads into the western Alps. A few thundery showers will also pop up toward the Pyrenees and eastern Spain.
Much of Spain and Portugal will be dry, but quite breezy for western Iberia. Highs 34 to 37C inland for southern Spain. Fair weather for Italy, the central Med and the Balkans. Dry and warm conditions also extend across much of eastern Europe, including Poland and eastern Germany. Feeling humid, 24 to 27C. Up to 32C in Hungary and southern Romania.
A front moves into western Norway, bringing persistent rain and low cloud. Generally dry and warm around the Baltic. Some thundery showers for western Russia.

Thursday
Local showers for eastern Spain, but much of Iberia stays hot and dry, highs 35 to 38C. Nearer 20 to 25C on the north coast of Spain. Less hot for France, 22 to 25C central-northern areas, but still reaching 30C in the south.
Thundery for the Alps. A few showers for Italy, but also plenty of warm sunshine, and topping 30C. Overnight rain should fade from Germany, leaving brightening skies and a fresh day, 19 to 22C. Humid for Poland, 23 to 27C. Hot and dry for east and south-eastern Europe, 31 to 33C in Hungary, southern Romania and Greece .
A front moves east across Scandinavia, bringing rain to Sweden. Norway should be mostly dry, with scattered showers in the west. Breezy and fresh for Denmark, 18C. Warm and most likely dry for Finland and the Baltic states, 21 to 23C.
