Warmest south-western Europe; changeable Scandinavia

Saturday
High pressure extends across central Europe, bringing plenty of dry and sunny weather. Warmest temperatures will be toward the south-west, reaching 28C in southern France, and topping 30C in south-western Spain, locally 35 to 38C in Portugal. Chance of an isolated shower over northern Spain. Lots of dry weather across most of the continent. Temperatures around 15 to 17C for the Low Countries, Alps and Germany.
A small but strong area of low pressure is situated over the eastern Mediterranean, bringing wet and windy weather to Greece , with a risk of flash flooding and severe gales in places. A few showers around the Black Sea, but reaching 23C in Romania. A fresh southwesterly pattern influences Scandinavia, bringing persistent rain to the west & north Norway. Patchy rain also spreads across Sweden, but Finland and the Baltic states should stay dry. Highs 10 to 14C.

Sunday
Fair weather continues for much of the continent. Warmest temperatures for south-western Spain and Portugal again topping 30C. Chance of a shower for central-southern France. Dry for northern France, with highs of 18 to 20C. Dry and pleasantly warm for the Alps, Italy and Germany, 18 to 22C. Light winds and early fog patches possible.
High pressure extends across eastern countries, with dry weather for Poland, Hungary and toward the Black Sea. Low pressure continues to influence Greece, with further rain or showers, and strong winds, although the worst should ease. Rain extends into western Turkey. Low pressure over northern Scandinavia maintains cool and unsettled weather over northern Europe. Windy around the Baltic, with rain at times. Frequent showers for western Norway, but drier for northern Sweden.
